Goats and rabbits took over the Holland College library today.

The animals were in as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Holland College brings animals in three times a year during exam weeks to help students de-stress, Leslie Holt, Resource Centre manager said.

“The animals release feel-good endorphins that help students relax and be able to stay calm during exam week.”

The animals lift her mood, said Kayla Butler, photography student at Holland College.

“I have been stressed with school and being here with the animals today made me forget about those stresses.”

The animals keep you present, Butler said.

“They help you stay in the moment and not worry about anything else.”

The animals come from Island Hill Farm, a local farm that encourages visitors to connect with the animals.
