Scooby Doo, where are you?
Organizers of the West Kent Fall Fair are looking for someone to dress up as Scooby Doo, the beloved dog from the cartoon television series.
The fair is a fundraiser to raise money for the school year.
Besides the carnival style games, face painting and bouncy castles, there will be a Scooby Doo ride where children sit in a shopping cart dressed as the Mystery Machine and are pushed down a spooky hallway, said parent volunteer Laura Meader.
“It’s really cheesy.”
Her daughter attends West Kent and really likes the Scooby Doo ride, so she decided to organize it this year.
She is still waiting to see some people signed up to volunteer.
“I’m sure I’ll be able to find people. Who doesn’t want to be Scooby Doo?”
Organizer Jill Cunniffe said there are many activities that need volunteers.
“We have volunteers come to do it and help us out just so parents can go and enjoy some of the fair with their kids, as opposed to having to man all the stations.”
Two of her children go to West Kent and they also enjoy the Scooby Doo ride.
It’s also the 10-year anniversary for the event, and it’s a fun time for families, she said.
